Helena Victoria Zabel
…is an eighth-semester law student at Humboldt University of Berlin and works as a research assistant at a law firm specializing in IT, IP, and venture law.
This year, she completed her specialization in "Law and Digital Transformation," focusing in particular on International Sales Law and Arbitration. In the 2023/2024 academic year, she deepened her knowledge of French law during a year-long, French-language study program at the Université de Bordeaux. She speaks English and French at a near-native level; basic knowledge of Spanish and Turkish further complements her profile. She also strengthened her English during an eight-month exchange in Canada.
Helena has gained a wide range of practical experience, giving her a solid and versatile legal foundation. In her free time, she enjoys staying active—tennis, squash, and rowing are among her favourite activities.
Fabio Herrera Aue
… is an eighth-semester law student at Humboldt University of Berlin. A year abroad at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires deepened his knowledge of Argentine, US, and international law and earned him a Certificate of Latin American Studies. Prior to that, he completed his specialization in Intellectual Property Law.
He gained practical experience through a three-year working student position at a boutique law firm specializing in private construction law and is currently completing an internship at an international corporate law firm.
Fabio grew up trilingual and speaks German, English, and Spanish fluently. He is actively involved in volunteer work as a victim advocate with the Weisser Ring and as a student legal advisor at Law & Legal. In his free time, he seeks athletic challenges, such as running marathons or undertaking mountain treks.
Lina Horn
… has just completed her specialization in Contract Law – Theory, Practice, and Cross-Border Dimensions – and is now in her seventh semester of law studies at Humboldt University of Berlin.
Born in Moscow and raised in Málaga, she now lives in Berlin. During an internship in International Arbitration, she deepened her interest in international arbitration. As part of her specialization, she also focused extensively on private international law. She is currently working as a student research assistant at the Graduiertenkolleg DynamInt.
Thanks to her multicultural background, Lina speaks German and Spanish fluently, English and Russian very well, and French at a good level. In her free time, she stays active through horseback riding, enjoys swimming—preferably in the sea—and reads books in multiple languages.
Felix Schnabl
… is a student in the Master’s program in European Law and Comparative Law (LL.M.) at Humboldt University. The master’s program is part of the European Law School track, which allows selected students to earn three degrees across three legal systems. The Vienna-born student began his studies at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, where he obtained a French Licence de Droit with distinction. After a year at Humboldt University, he will continue his studies at King’s College London. In parallel, he is independently pursuing an Austrian Magister Iuris at Johannes Kepler University Linz.
The Willem C. Vis Moot is not Felix’s first international experience: in 2022, he won the final of the European Law Moot Court before the CJEU in Luxembourg in the “Commission Agent” category. A two-week internship in the chambers of the German Advocate General at the CJEU and a position in theweek internship in the chambers of the German Advocate General at the CJEU and a position in the Lititional litigation.
Olivia Stolzenwald
… is in her eighth semester at Humboldt University. She spent the past semesters in Paris at Université Panthéon-Assas, where she earned a French bachelor's degree through the Bermüpa program. The subsequent master's semester in international private and commercial law provided her with initial insights into WTO arbitration. She also engaged extensively with the legal framework governing foreign investments.
She gained practical experience through internships at a tax law firm in Paris and a prestigious large law firm in Germany. In addition to her excellent French skills, she has further developed her English through numerous university courses. Outside of her studies, she volunteered as a board member of the European Law Students' Association Berlin. In her free time, she enjoys jogging, swimming, and playing the flute in the university orchestra.
Paul Marquordt
…is in his sixth semester of law studies at Humboldt University of Berlin. Previously, he was enrolled in Bayreuth, where he completed an additional technical-sciences program while working at Fraunhofer FIT.
He gained practical insights into various legal fields through placements at courts, the public prosecutor's office, and the German Bundestag. Since moving to Berlin, he has been working as a research assistant at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
Paul has been a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation since 2023. Extended stays in South Africa and Ireland allowed him to develop fluent English skills and gain international experience. In his free time, he is politically active—where he applies his communication and persuasion skills, which he now brings to the Moot Court team.
Noëmi Nina Simon, LL.M (Paris II, Coach)
… completed her law studies in July 2024 with the First State Examination in Law at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, specializing in Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law.
From October 2024 to June 2025, she pursued an LL.M. in International Business Law at Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris, graduating top of her class. Noëmi was a scholarship recipient of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung both during her law studies and her LL.M. Since autumn, she has been pursuing a Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Law.
In 2021/22, she participated in the Willem C. Vis Moot Court as a member of the University of Heidelberg team. There, her team won first place for the best claimant memorandum in Vienna, first place for the best respondent memorandum in Hong Kong, and she received an Honorable Mention.
Noëmi speaks English and French and holds a Latinum. In her free time, she is very active in sports, enjoys traveling, and has a strong interest in art.
Jakob Zang (Coach)
… participated in the 2023/2024 Willem C. Vis Moot Court and received an Honorable Mention as Best Speaker.
Since 2020, he has been studying law at Humboldt University of Berlin and completed his specialization in "Legislation and Legal Policy" with distinction, graduating top of his class. In April 2025, he completed the written part of his First State Examination. His studies are supported by the Deutschlandstipendium. In addition, he works as a research assistant in the German Bundestag.
He enhanced his English skills through a law program taught in English and a six-month volunteer service with kulturweit in Prague. In his free time, Jakob is very active in sports: after many years in club sports, he has devoted himself to strength training with great dedication for several years.
